The OFID Fund is lending the Kingdom of Belize $ 40 million

The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) has announced a $ 40 million loan to the Central American country of Belize to support the road rehabilitation project as part of OFID’s interest in supporting the government’s development priorities.
The Loan Agreement was signed by Sulaiman Al-Harbash, General Manager of OFID and Dean Obaru, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belize. During the signing ceremony, Al-Harbash highlighted the long-standing partnership between OFID Fund and Belize, which began three decades ago with a loan to rehabilitate Belize International Airport.
For his part, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belize expressed his appreciation for OFID’s support for his country since 1988. He explained that the project to improve the main road to the city of Karakul in the province of Caio will have a positive impact on all sectors.
