The Liwa International Festival will continue its sports competitions tomorrow, on its fourth day, with the start of the falconry competitions, which will last for 3 days until next Wednesday.
The rest of the competitions and sporting challenges of the festival extend until December 31, in one of the strongest festivals in the region, due to the various competitions and races it brings together in the Liwa region and in Tel Mereb, the most beloved destination for all youth, adventurers, speed lovers and motorsports.
And with the start of the falconry competitions, the start will be tomorrow with the owners in 4 categories for the competition: Al-Jair Shaheen, Al-Jair Tabaa, Al-Biour and Al-Qarmosha, then the competition will resume the day after tomorrow with professionals and the same categories, then the third day, which will include professionals and owners together, and granis, where there will also be 4 categories And to conclude with the challenges of falconry.
As was the case in previous seasons, the competition will start at eight in the morning; Where the Organizing Committee has prepared the competition area in Tel Mereb, and the talwah system will be followed, and the distance will be 400 meters, through which the times for each participating bird will be calculated.
The committee implemented all modern electronic systems through the competition, from the moment the bird was released until arrival, in order to calculate the times accurately and in all the attempts that will be launched over the course of the three days.
It is expected that the number of registered persons will reach very high numbers throughout the falconry competitions, especially since the timing is very suitable for holding the competition in all respects and is suitable for the falconers’ race schedule.
Sari Ghashem, a member of the Organizing Committee for Falconry Competitions, confirmed that dividing the tournament into three days comes out of the committee’s keenness to give a comfortable space to all owners and professionals to participate in more than one category and for the competition to be stronger.
He said that the atmosphere of the Mhereeb tournaments is very special, and the falconry competitions are among the popular sports that are very popular with the people of the region. Therefore, we expect a large and huge participation during the three days of this tournament.
Sari Ghashem thanked the Liwa Sports Club for its keenness to organize falconry competitions for the authentic meanings it carries and the consolidation of one of the most important popular sports in the UAE.
