France experiences second hottest summer since 1900

Paris On August 31, France experienced the second hottest summer since 1900, according to the French Meteorological Service.

The French authority explained in a statement issued today that during the months of June, July and August of this year (the summer months), the average temperature is likely to be 2.3 degrees Celsius higher than the reference value.

This is the second hottest summer in France since 1900, after the hottest summer ever recorded in 2003.

The French Meteorological Service said the country had suffered three heat waves in the past three months, which it described as particularly intense and prolonged.
