Members of the “Emirates Wheat” initiative held their fifth annual meeting at Humaid Obaid Mohammed Al Zaabi farm in the Emirate of Ajman, on the occasion of the approaching season of wheat cultivation, with the aim of supporting local farms and encouraging farmers to grow wheat, and discussing farmers’ needs and challenges facing them. The meeting also dealt with preparations for the upcoming season. For the cultivation of wheat this year, in this regard, wheat seeds were distributed to 200 farmers in various regions of the country.
Farmer Humaid Obaid Mohammed Al Zaabi, supervisor of the “Emirates Wheat” initiative, said in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” that the members of the initiative, which was launched in 2017, produce more than 80 tons of wheat at the state level.
