US stocks close lower

US stocks ended lower today.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 328.09 points, or 1.33 percent, at 24,252.83. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index <.SPX> was down 37.81 points, or 1.37 percent, to close at 2717.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index closed down 160.81 points, or 2.09 percent, to 7532.01 points.
