Japan’s Nikkei average suffered its biggest weekly loss in more than four months on Tuesday as the United States raised tariffs on Chinese goods, raising a trade dispute that is increasingly damaging other Asian economies dependent on exports.
The benchmark Nikkei <.N225> was down 0.27 percent at 21,344.92, down for a fifth consecutive session. The benchmark index fell 4.1 percent this week, its worst performance since dropping 5.7 percent in the week ending December 21, 2018.
