The Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Award for Excellence, one of the initiatives of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reviewed the progress and work plan of the Award during the second and third quarters of this year as part of the preparations for the organization of its fourth session for 2019.
During the recent meeting, chaired by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the Council was briefed by Sultan Abdullah Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, members of the Board of Trustees, and Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director General of the Chamber. Al-Hajri, General Coordinator of the Award, on the promotional stages of the award, which included the holding of a number of seminars, workshops, and participation in conferences and exhibitions inside and outside the country, in addition to the orientation tours and field visits recently organized by the Chamber to promote the categories of the award, The meeting discussed the schedule for the award, as well as training courses offered by the award this year and approved by the European Foundation for Quality Management / EFQM /.
He urged Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, the award team to intensify efforts to promote various categories, to achieve its mission and strive to contribute to the translation of the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to activate the role of the private sector in the process of economic integration through focus To develop its facilities and develop its performance and efficiency not only at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah but also at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Al Owais stressed the keenness to enhance the importance of the Sharjah Excellence Award and its position and reputation as one of the most prominent economic initiatives to develop competitiveness and create an investment climate for the UAE and Gulf business community and enable it to benefit from the values ​​of quality, leadership and innovation to contribute to improve its performance and promote the growth of business and industrial and build a sustainable economy and upgrading Quality of Gulf products in the international markets.
For his part, Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, said that the award in its various categories is in a state of continuous and continuous development, within the framework of the Chamber’s keenness to contribute to the promotion of a culture of excellence and quality within its vision, mission and responsibility to be the driving force of economic development in the emirate and the state, and to become a regional center to provide Scientific and practical best practices in the region, pointing to the updates of the award in its fourth session in line with the best international practices in the field of business excellence, and to add many competitive advantages for the participating institutions in the seven categories of the award award Sharjah Excellence Award, Sharjah Green Award, Sharjah Green Award, Sharjah Small and Medium Enterprises Award, Sharjah CSR Award, Sharjah Entrepreneur Award, and Sharjah Gulf Emiratization Award.
It is worth mentioning that the new decisions of the Board of Trustees of the Award included changing the name of the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award to the Sharjah Excellence Award and changing the category of the Sharjah Startup Award in the United Arab Emirates to the Sharjah Small and Medium Enterprises Award and separating it into two categories. Each category includes two winners of AED 25,000 each. These categories include the micro-enterprise category with 5 employees or less, and the small and medium enterprises category with more than 5 employees. For all entrepreneurs Marat state, allocated to reward the most successful businessmen in the UAE who put a distinctive imprint for them in the business world, that are selected two winners each get 50 thousand dirhams.
