The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language participates in the Muscat International Book Fair

Abu Dhabi, February 20 / The Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, affiliated to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, is participating in the 27th session of the Muscat International Book Fair, which will be held in the Omani capital from February 22 to March 4, with the participation of 826 publishing houses from 32 countries.

The center reviews more than 400 titles of its publications by local and Arab creators and writers, and books issued by the “Kalima” translation project, in addition to shedding light on the most prominent developments of its various projects in the fields of publishing and translation.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, said: “Our participation in the Muscat International Book Fair 2023 coincides with the center’s strategy to consolidate its efforts and role in building cultural bridges with various entities and institutions through its participation in the most prominent cultural and local events, exhibitions and festivals from around the world.” In a way that supports the promotion of the status of the Arabic language and the definition of its creations on the other hand, these posts also translate his continuous endeavor to support the cultural movement in the region, contribute to strengthening the publishing industry, and explore more opportunities and inspiring ideas for this sector.

The Center participates in the exhibition with the publications of the “Kalima” project for translation, which provided the Arab Library with huge productions in quantity and quality translated from 21 languages of the world. This project aims to revive the translation movement in the Arab world and support the active cultural movement that Abu Dhabi is witnessing, in addition to providing wide options for the Arab reader, and to compensate for the great shortage that libraries in the region suffer from in all fields of knowledge.

Last year, the Muscat International Book Fair hosted 27 countries and included a program full of events and activities, including seminars, panel discussions, lectures, evenings, book signings and other cultural activities for all ages. The exhibition is an important cultural, intellectual and literary forum. Since its inception, it has recorded an increase in the number of participating countries, publishing houses and spaces allocated for it, as well as public attendance.
