Abu Dhabi launches the first electric bus in the region

Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) has launched the first fully electric passenger bus in the region as the UAE capital seeks to use non-polluting and energy-efficient transportation.
The UAE has set a target of 27 percent clean energy by 2021.
Masdar Clean Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investments, invested $ 8.5 billion in renewable energy projects in the UAE and abroad.
A source said on Tuesday that the fully electric bus can accommodate up to 30 passengers with a distance of up to 150 kilometers per cargo.
The bus was developed jointly with Siemens Middle East and buses for the Abu Dhabi-based bus manufacturing industry.
