Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi issued a decree to reallocate a portion of the land owned by the state, in particular to the Cairo-Alexandria road, for the new urban communities organization with the aim of establishing a new urban society.
According to the Middle East News Agency, the area allocated for the construction of a new urban community of 59 thousand and 417 acres.
“Of that area, 14,151 feddans have been transferred from land for reclamation and cultivation, with the armed forces retaining their property within the boundaries of that area,” she said.
The Cairo-Alexandria road connects the two largest cities in Egypt and has witnessed remarkable traffic congestion in recent years after maintenance and development.
According to the decree published in the Official Gazette, the Prime Minister presents to the President of the Egyptian Republic a detailed report on the work, assignments and obstacles to implementation every three months at the latest.
Al-Watan newspaper reported that the General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Development Projects has handed over all the documents related to those lands, including fixed transactions.
She added, “President Sisi has committed the Community Authority to develop strategic and detailed planners for the new community within a period of not more than two years, in order to optimize its development and make maximum use of its privileged position to become a new integrated service community”
