Fujairah International Mining Forum concludes its work

The Fujairah International Mining Forum called on the Arab countries to urge companies operating in the mining sector to use renewable energy sources in industries related to the sector while preserving the environment and qualify the cadres working in the mining sector to innovate and use artificial intelligence and encourage entrepreneurship.
It also recommended creating investment opportunities in the mining sector as well as enhancing the role of mining industries to increase the added value of the mining sector. Using modern methods and systems for managing and improving energy efficiency in metallurgical installations, applying the ISO 50001 standards and applying HSE standards in the mining sector and achieving sustainability in activities Industrial and corporate social responsibility operating in the mining sector.
He called for the modernization of mining laws and legislation and to benefit from some Arab experiences in preparing a manual for mineral investment. The Forum also called for the optimal exploitation of mineral resources in order to achieve sustainable development and attention to geological tourism and develop a framework for the advancement of the protection of the geological heritage, including meteorites while keeping pace with global trends using smart applications in the mineral wealth sector and coordination with research centers in providing studies for the treatment of mining waste, In this area and to learn and benefit from international experiences to establish green mines to preserve the environment.
The meeting was concluded at the Blue Diamond Hotel in Fujairah and the accompanying exhibition under the theme “Emirates Land of Tolerance” organized by the Foundation and the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry and the participation of more than 450 experts and specialists representing Arab and international institutions, , The Islamic Organization for Science, Education and Culture (ISESCO), the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO), and 22 participants in the exhibition accompanying the forum.
The final day was attended by HE Eng. Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Chairman of Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation and Engineer Ali Qassem, Director General of the Foundation.
The forum aims to exchange experiences and propose appropriate solutions to encourage domestic and foreign investment in the mining sector and to find innovative new mechanisms to develop the exploitation and manufacture of minerals and industrial rocks, achieve sustainability in industrial and mining activities and enhance social responsibility of companies operating in the mining sector.
The recommendations included the holding of the 8th Fujairah International Mining Forum and the accompanying exhibition in 2021.
