Harvard International Development: Egypt’s economic growth averages 6.8% to 2027

The Harvard Foundation for International Development predicted that the Egyptian economy will grow by an average of 6.8% annually until 2027 to become one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
A project report reviewed by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly pointed out that these projections are based on a single measure of “economic complexity”, which reflects the diversity and development of productive capacities embedded in each country’s exports.
The report pointed out that what brings together a number of countries including Egypt, China and Vietnam as the fastest growing countries according to these expectations is not because they share the same educational level or geographical region, religion or any measure of the quality of institutions, but because each of these countries have a more sophisticated More specialized knowledge than expected or income can drive diversity and growth.
Egypt ranked 68th in the Economic Complexity Index.
The report said that compared to a previous decade, the Egyptian economy has become more diversified to increase by two degrees in the index “economic complexity” and is represented by the improvement in the diversity of exports .. He stressed that Egypt is eligible to take advantage of many opportunities in the future to diversify production using its current knowledge.
