Hackathon Dates continues with more than 1,000 young men and women

Dates Hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, continued its activities with the aim of harnessing modern technologies to enhance the date production industry in the Kingdom to reach the first place globally by inviting entrepreneurs, technology experts, as well as application developers. Smart and direct their potential towards innovative technical solutions, contribute to increased production efficiency, raise quality, reduce cost.
The three-day event, which was attended by more than 1,000 young men and women of technical and interested pioneers, is an alliance between the two ministries, the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (MASHAT), Wadi Taiba, King Faisal University, the National Center for Palm and Dates, and the Riyadh Chamber. On the basis of its program of activities, which included a number of workshops in the fields of “Artificial Intelligence, 3D Printing, Block Chin, Internet of Things”, BADIR’s technology incubator program seeks to expand and grow sales and enter new markets that contribute to raising revenue. Economic Cross Walls Anah e-commerce to find solutions related to shipment and payment and the provision of supplies and tools, and to provide technical solutions to the challenges facing the agricultural sector in the area of ​​pests and epidemics, as well as the use of modern techniques in forecasting and early diagnosis and prevention of these diseases, thereby contributing to the production and efficiency of quality.
Hackathon participants are supported through a range of intensive training programs and workshops, in order to embrace the three winning projects that have been awarded
Prizes amounted to 60,000 riyals, where the first place winner won a prize of 30,000 riyals, while the second place won 20.000, while the winner of the center
Third to 10.000 riyals.
It is worth mentioning that the sponsorship of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for the event “Hackthon dates” was part of its ongoing efforts to achieve its strategic directions derived from the vision of the Kingdom 2030, which aims to harness technology to contribute effectively to support the overall development process in the Kingdom.
