Sheikha Hind Bint Majid Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Businesswomen Council, said that activating the potential of women as productive forces to achieve the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations has become an international consensus, pointing out the importance of benefiting from this consensus and turning it into policies, plans and methodologies.
Sheikha Hind Al Qasimi, who participated in the Arab-African Businesswomen’s Conference, held in Morocco this past two days, said that development goals are not only achieved through results, but also by the size of women’s participation with men as well as the participation of peoples.
She noted that the changes in the structure of global economies and the nature of their management and the need to absorb all social groups in their systems for achieving growth and community development have doubled the importance of empowering women and supporting entrepreneurial projects for every woman or girl seeking to transform her dreams into projects on the ground.

The conference, organized by the Arab-African Union for the Development of Industrial Exports and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development under the slogan “Achieving sustainable development goals through supporting entrepreneurs”, focused on the importance of enhancing the role of Arab and African women in industrial development, in order to support and develop women’s entrepreneurship initiatives Small and medium-sized exports.
He also highlighted the efforts of economic empowerment by building the capacities of Arab and African women, supporting small and medium enterprises, establishing capacity development centers, business incubators and training for women, especially in the industrial fields, and enhancing the horizons of cooperation between Arab and African businesswomen through creating partnership and mechanism for coordination. Sheikha Hind Al Qasimi participated in a panel discussion titled “How Innovation Enhances the Role of Businesswomen in Economic Development”, in accordance with three axes: First, addressing the participation of women in the growing digital economy and the second focusing on empowering businesswomen through training, technical expertise and technology. She stressed that Sharjah is empowering women to play a more active role in the digital age in line with the approach promoted by the wise leadership of the UAE by inviting stakeholders from schools, universities, vocational training institutes, businesses, corporations, public administrations and local communities to close the digital divide in skills, skills and employment opportunities.
