The Ministry of Economy issues a list of 115 services that have been abolished

The Ministry of Economy issued a list of 115 services that were canceled in a step described as coming in implementation of the Council of Ministers Decision No. 51 of 2019 aimed at reducing the fees of government services to enhance the attractiveness of the national economy and raise the competitiveness of the state in the field of doing business.
The UAE ranked 11th in the world at the ease of doing business at 81.28% compared to 78.73% last year, according to a report by the World Bank. The UAE was ranked among the top ten in the world in 5 out of 10 axes: building permits, access to electricity , Registration of property, enforcement of contracts and payment of taxes while maintaining its global leadership in the axis of access to electricity.
The abolished service fees at the Ministry of Economy include a range of services for intellectual works, commercial agencies, trademarks, industrial licenses, auditors, the national patent examination program, commercial registration management and other services that will contribute to reducing the financial burden on companies.
The decision of the Ministry of Economy in this regard comes within the framework of a series of stimulus measures taken by the federal government and local governments to promote the growth of the national economy and consolidate the country’s status as a distinctive investment destination, which contributes to raise the country’s ratings on global competitiveness indicators during the next phase.
The lists announced by the Ministry of Economy showed that the cancellations included fees for 61 services provided to the national patent examination program and about 15 services in the field of trademarks. The fees for 14 industrial license services, 9 services in the commercial registry and 9 services for auditors were also canceled. 5 services in commercial agencies and the abolition of charges for two services in the field of intellectual classifications.
Service fees that have been canceled ranged from AED 100 to AED 5,000, according to the Ministry of Economy’s lists.
It is noteworthy that the decision of the Council of Ministers issued on the reduction and cancellation of a package of fees services provided by some federal agencies, which was issued earlier includes more than 1500 government services belonging to three major federal ministries to include the Ministries of Interior, Economy, Human Resources and resettlement.
