Minister of Economy: The prices of eggs and poultry will be reviewed within 6 months

Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri, Minister of Economy, confirmed that raising the prices of poultry and eggs by 13% before Ramadan is temporary, and this increase will be reviewed during the next six months.

In a written response to the Federal National Council on a parliamentary question about raising prices by 13% for some commodities before Ramadan submitted by Obaid Khalfan Al-Salami, he said that raising the prices of eggs and poultry products came as a result of the increase in operational costs, feed and shipping fees.

In response to another question about the high prices in one of the outlets, submitted by Naameh Al-Sharhan, the second deputy head of the council, the Minister of Economy said that a study was conducted that included 31 commodities in 21 outlets, and the report concluded that there is no exploitation for selling commodities, and that commodity prices do not reflect There is a practice of raising the prices of commodities with a difference in prices in some outlets as a result of the difference in operating costs between one outlet and another.
