The arrival of the first ship to Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait as part of the weekly container shipping service through Khalifa Port

Abu Dhabi, April 17: The “Seven Pride” ship, the first ship to transport containers within the new weekly shipping service recently launched by the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, docked today in Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait to enhance trade and logistical linkages and facilitate trade with the sisterly State of Kuwait.
The container transport ship “Seven Pride” is part of the “Seven Feeders” fleet, with a gross tonnage of 15,636 tons, a carrying capacity of 16,855,210 deadweight tons, and is capable of carrying 1,374 standard containers.
Upon its arrival at the port of Shuwaikh in Kuwait, the ship was received by His Excellency Dr. Matar Hamed Halees Matar Al Neyadi.
State Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, Acting CEO of the Maritime Sector and Seven Group – Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Issa Abdullah Al Mulla – Acting General Manager of the Kuwait Ports Corporation.

His Excellency Dr. Matar Hamed Halees Matar Al Neyadi, UAE Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, said: “We are proud today to launch this new shipping service for transporting containers, which would contribute more to enhancing trade exchange and expanding horizons of economic cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the sisterly State of Kuwait. This new navigation service will provide the private sector in the two brotherly countries with more options for transporting goods and commodities.
He added: “The launch of this new shipping service to transport containers from Khalifa Port to Shuwaikh Port is a reflection of the vision and aspirations of the wise leadership in the two brotherly countries to enhance economic cooperation, facilitate trade and logistical linkage and stimulate the private sector for the benefit and good of the two brotherly countries.”

His Excellency the Ambassador concluded by thanking the Abu Dhabi Ports Group and the Kuwait Ports Authority for their cooperation and valuable efforts.
Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, Acting CEO of the Maritime Sector and Seven Group, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said: “We are pleased to witness the reception of the “Seven Pride”, the first container ship, which launched from Khalifa Port in the UAE and arrived today at Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait, within the framework of The new shipping service that we recently launched, in addition to the shipping service that we previously launched to ship rolled goods to the port of Shuwaikh in the State of Kuwait via Khalifa Port, which reflects our leading role as a global provider of transportation services and comprehensive logistical solutions, and our constant endeavor to establish strong business partnerships, and launch new services to develop Ways of cooperation, integration and promotion of trade linkage.
For his part, Issa Abdullah Al-Mulla, Acting Director General of the Kuwait Ports Corporation, said: “Today we are pleased to receive the first container ship coming from the United Arab Emirates, which reflects the fraternal relations and the large volume of trade exchange between the two brotherly countries, and also confirms our constant keenness to strengthen trade relations with The UAE and elevating it towards new horizons that benefit our two peoples.
He added, “Trade relations between the UAE and Kuwait have witnessed remarkable growth over the past few years, which reflects the relentless efforts made by the wise leadership of the two brotherly countries to expand the horizons of cooperation and enhance the volume of non-oil trade exchange.”
The launch of these two new services for transporting containers and rolled goods between Khalifa Port in the UAE and Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait is part of the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group to continue to lead the wheel of excellence and leadership in the field of marine and logistic services, and to enhance trade linkage and facilitate the movement of trade in the region through Khalifa Port.
Following the completion of its recent acquisitions, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group has become the world’s third largest single provider of regional container freight services in terms of tonnage capacity, with vessels offering a capacity of 100,000 TEU, connecting key markets in the Gulf region, the Indian subcontinent, the Red Sea and Turkey. .
