UAE delegation discusses economic and investment cooperation with Nepal

An official and trade delegation from the United Arab Emirates participated in the Nepal International Investment Summit 2019 in the Nepali capital with the participation of a group of businessmen and representatives of investment companies in the country.
During the summit, Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Foreign Trade Affairs, who led the delegation, met with HE Mohamed Ashtayak Rai, Minister of Urban Development of Nepal, D. Yadav, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply of Nepal, HE Ragubir Mahasit, Minister of Transport and Physical Infrastructure of the Nepali Government, and HE Yubraj Khatiwada, Minister of Finance of Nepal.
He discussed with Nepali officials ways of developing economic and investment cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of Nepal in a number of sectors of common interest and opportunities for cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two countries in the field of sustainable infrastructure and enhancing cooperation in the fields of investment, trade and industrial zones. Transport and infrastructure development and logistics services to serve the economic prosperity and business activity.
Al Saleh pointed out during the meetings the importance of exploring opportunities for cooperation in the field of smart cities in Nepal, stressing the importance of the current cooperation relations with the Republic of Nepal, especially in the economic and investment aspects and raising the levels of trade exchange. He pointed to the keenness of many UAE companies to expand their investments and business in Nepali markets , Calling on Minister Yadav to participate in the next annual investment forum in Dubai.
On the other hand, the Nepali ministers stressed the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries and exploring opportunities in their various sectors, referring to the bilateral investment law in Nepal, which will be one of the main factors to attract foreign direct investment in the coming years, calling on UAE entities to contribute to the Special Economic Zone Nepal, pointing to the aspiration of their country to intensify visits and meetings during the current year between the government agencies of the two countries, and between them and the business communities of Nepal and the UAE to promote opportunities for fruitful partnership of the two countries and the transition to economic relations Of bilateral to a higher level.
