Three Governmental Organizations to Participate in the World Summit of the Oceans in Mexico

A delegation of government bodies from Abu Dhabi will participate in the World Summit of the Oceans scheduled to be held in Mexico from March 7 to 9.

The Abu Dhabi delegation is headed by Khalifa bin Salem Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi and a number of senior officials from Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Ports and the Department of Economic Development.

“The participation of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi at the Oceans Summit in Mexico is an opportunity to learn about international policies and initiatives that can be used, developed or enhanced to support a more consistent Abu Dhabi environmental approach to create a more sustainable economy,” said Khalifa Al Mansouri,

He added that Abu Dhabi’s participation in the summit reflects the government’s keenness to strengthen the emirate’s position as a center in the region to achieve sustainable economic and environmental growth by committing to protecting the environment and enhancing efforts to support the blue economy by implementing strategic plans to reduce pollution and climate change impacts.

HE Rasan Khalifa Al Mubarak, Secretary General of EAD, stressed the importance of this summit in supporting the implementation of the goal of conservation of the oceans, seas and marine resources and their sustainable use to achieve sustainable development within the objectives of the sustainable development of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

“Abu Dhabi’s participation in this summit will enhance Abu Dhabi’s efforts to protect and improve the quality of the marine environment and reaffirms its commitment to contributing to global action to halt the degradation of the oceans, which provide essential services such as food security, economic activities; Which will positively affect humans and planet Earth and enhance the level of well-being.
