25 million tons of tonnage cargo handled in Saudi ports

Between the statistical index issued by the General Authority of Saudi Ports (Ports), the total tonnage of handling cargo in the Saudi ports during the month of December 2018 amounted to (25) million tons, an increase of 11.38% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. (577) thousand containers, an increase of 9%, compared to the same period of the previous year.
The number of passengers in the Saudi ports during December 2018 reached (1,151) vessels, the number of passengers reached (87) thousand passengers, the number of vehicles (61) thousand vehicles, and the number of livestock (684) thousand head of livestock.
This increase comes within the framework of the efforts of the General Authority of Ports “Ports” to strengthen the services of the Saudi ports, and raise the level of performance and productivity and operational and logistical capabilities, in order to achieve the vision of the Kingdom 2030.
