Saudi consumer price index fell by 0.3% in December

The monthly report of the Saudi General Organization for Statistics released the consumer price index in Saudi Arabia for the month of December last year, with a decrease of 0.3% compared to November 2018.
The main components of the Consumer Price Index witnessed declines of 0.5%, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels by 0.5%, Transportation by 0.2%, Furnishing and Home Appliances by 0.1%, and Telecommunications by 0.1%, and finally, miscellaneous goods and services by 0.1%.
Tobacco, clothing, footwear, health, recreation, culture, education, restaurants and hotels remained at their previous price levels, with no significant change in their index figures.
As for the annual change in the index of consumer price index during the month of December 2018 compared to the previous year, it increased by 2.2%, where the index of consumer price index in the Kingdom of 106.2 points in December 2018, up from 103.9 in December 2017, By 2.2%.
While the annual index of the ten main sections of the Consumer Price Index rose by 12.0%, tobacco by 10.2%, restaurants and hotels by 7.3%, food and beverages by 7.1%, furniture and housewares by 5.0% Culture by 4.6%, health by 4.0%, communications by 1.1%, miscellaneous goods and services by 0.8% and education by 0.2%.
The main sectors of the main index were: Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and other fuels by 5.1%, and clothing and footwear by 3.2%.
