Exports of Jordan Amman Chamber of Industry increased by 10%

The statistical reports of the Amman Chamber of Industry showed that exports increased during the last year to 4.80 billion dinars compared to 3,896 billion dinars in 2017, and growth was 10 percent last year.
India, Iraq, the United States and Saudi Arabia accounted for more than half of the chamber’s exports last year, recording a value of 2.199 billion dinars. The Chamber’s exports to India increased by 18.3 percent last year, bringing it to the forefront of Arab and foreign countries receiving the largest exports of 616 million dinars compared to 520 million dinars 2017.
The chamber’s exports to the United States rose by 10.8 percent to reach 514 million dinars compared to 464 million dinars in 2017. The Chamber’s exports to Palestine last year rose 69.5 percent to KD 251 million, compared to 148 million dinars in 2017.
In contrast, exports of the Amman Chamber of Industry to Saudi Arabia decreased by 2.8 percent during the last year, falling to 498 million dinars compared to 513 million dinars in 2017.
The report pointed to an increase in the Chamber’s exports during the past year to many Arab and foreign countries, including Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Sudan, Qatar, Libya, Malaysia, Italy, Belgium and other countries.
In contrast, the Chamber’s exports during the past year have declined to many Arab and foreign countries including Algeria, Kuwait, Yemen, China, Turkey, Indonesia, Japan, Iran, Pakistan and other countries.
During the past year, the chamber’s exports amounted to KD 999 million, chemicals, cosmetics, 787 million dinars, leather and leather goods worth 462 million dinars.
The exports of the sectors of therapeutics and medical supplies amounted to 614 million dinars, engineering, electrical and information technology 446 million dinars, food, agriculture and livestock, 421 million dinars, packaging, paper, cardboard and office supplies 251 million dinars.
The rest of the chamber’s exports during the past year were distributed to the plastic and rubber industries with KD 148 million, construction of 133 million dinars and finally wood and furniture worth 19 million dinars.
