JD33.2 billion in deposits with licensed banks last year

Deposits in licensed banks amounted to 33 billion and 199 million dinars in 2017 and private sector deposits accounted for about 93 percent.

According to the monthly bulletin of the Central Bank of Jordan, the private sector deposits reached 30 billion and 820 million dinars, of which 26918 million to the private sector resident and 3636 million to the private non-resident sector.

Public sector deposits reached 2336 million dinars, of which 956 million to the central government, 797 million to the public budget, and 1050 million to the Social Security Corporation.
