6% increase in free investment revenues in Zarqa Jordan

Investment revenues in the Zarqa Free Zone increased by 6 per cent last February, with a turnover of about one million dinars.
The Free Zone and Zones Development Group said in a statement on Sunday that total revenues from the Zarqa free zone declined slightly during the month of February, at a rate not exceeding 14 per cent, to 553 thousand dinars compared to 646 thousand dinars for February 2017, Revenues from the vehicle sector, which accounts for 60 percent of the total revenue, declined from 87,000 dinars in the same period last year.
He added that the revenues of goods and vehicle storage allowances increased during February by 27 percent, amounting to 118 thousand dinars compared to 93 thousand dinars from February last year.
On the results of revenues for the first two months of this year, the statement pointed out that the revenues of storage of goods and vehicles rose by 17 percent, reaching 265 thousand dinars compared to 224 thousand dinars in the same period last year. He pointed out that the revenues of storage allowances for the same period in 2016 amounted to 321 thousand Dinar.
He added that the total revenues of the region of goods and vehicles during the first two months decreased by 134 thousand dinars and by 9 percent, reaching 285 thousand dinars compared to 419 thousand in the same period last year, including merchandise revenues by 18 percent and vehicle income by 5 per cent.
Al-Zarqa is one of six public free zones and 33 private free zones in the Kingdom. It is managed by the Jordanian Group for Free Zones and Development Areas, which is responsible for the establishment and development of free and development zones in various regions of the Kingdom.
