Etisalat and HC Hutchison complete merger of their mobile companies in Sri Lanka

Emirates Telecommunications Group has announced that it has completed and the “HC Hutchison” group merged their mobile phone company in Sri Lanka.
The group said in a statement posted on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) that Etisalat Telecom and Hutchison Telecom Lanka were merged with all necessary approvals.
The group said it owns a 15% stake in the new company, while HC Hutchison owns the controlling stake of 85%.
Etisalat confirmed that it will inform the market of any significant developments in the matter in accordance with the rules and regulations of the stock market in force.
