Jordan, funded $ 71 million to build a wind power plant

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has unveiled a $ 71 million financing package to build the 51 MW wind power station at Tafilah in Jordan’s Tafilah Governorate, which will provide clean energy to households and businesses across the country.
The Daihan Wind Power Plant is the first project involving COSBO, Daleem Energy and Shenhan Bank in the renewable energy sector in Jordan. Moayad Makhlouf, IFC Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, said the institution is helping to attract foreign direct investment to Jordan and is leveraging investments in the long term, according to a statement issued by the International Finance Corporation.
