Abu Dhabi acquires half of the branches of foreign companies in the UAE

Until the end of last year 2022, the number of branches of foreign companies in the UAE reached approximately 2,722 branches, distributed over Abu Dhabi with a majority share of 49% (almost half) with 1,333 branches, and Dubai second with a share of 43% and with 1,178 branches.

According to recent data issued by the Ministry of Economy, the Emirate of Sharjah came third with a share of 4% representing 106 branches, Fujairah fourth with a share of 2 with 63 branches, Ras Al Khaimah fifth with a share of 1% representing 29 branches, while the emirates of Umm Al Quwain and Ajman have 7 branches and 6 branches, respectively.

The branches of companies holding the nationality of the United States of America ranked first with 155 branches, then India came second with 143 branches, the United Kingdom third with 122 branches, France 85, China 77, Egypt 74, Lebanon 69, Italy 67, Japan 62, Jordan 55.

Then came the Netherlands 51, Pakistan 49, Germany 48, South Korea 44, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea 41 branches, Singapore 31 branches, Canada 29 branches, Switzerland 29, Spain 28 branches.
