Abu Dhabi Quality: Correction of 37 products and recovery of 19 markets to ensure safety

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council announced the recovery of 19 products and the correction of 37 products from the emirate’s markets for non-compliance with safety and quality requirements during the inspection campaigns carried out by the Council during 2018.
The Board explained that the inspections included 59,626 commodities of various controlled and traded products, ranging from toys, household appliances, vehicle tires, cigarette products, tobacco and household detergents.
He pointed out that 193 different samples were selected and sent to internationally accredited laboratories for examination and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. The results of the examination showed that 61% of the samples conformed to their quality and safety requirements and 39% of the samples did not comply with their quality and safety requirements.
He noted the results of inspections and inspections of controlled products, legal measuring instruments and prepackaged packages in the markets of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during the period from 1 January to the end of December 2018.
As part of its ongoing efforts to provide safe and fair markets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADCED), under the terms of the Authorization Agreement signed by the Council and the Emirates Standards and Metrology Authority, verified the accuracy of 9680 legal and quantitative measuring instruments in 21580 prepackaged containers of 608 food products at factories and suppliers And markets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during 2018.
Sultan Al Muhairi, Director of Information Services and Participation in the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, stressed the keenness of the Permanent Council to apply quality standards and regulations to the highest international standards and to ensure that suppliers, employees and traders in all sectors comply with these standards. The Abu Dhabi Trust, which increases the confidence of customers in their products and contributes to the Council’s efforts to establish Abu Dhabi as a global destination for investment with quality infrastructure.
The Council is the first government body in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to receive international accreditation in accordance with ISO / IEC 17020: 2012 in the field of verification of legal measurement tools, which reflects the Council’s commitment to the leadership’s directives to achieve Abu Dhabi plan and vision.
