“Abu Dhabi Quality Center” supports small and medium-sized companies through “Osos in Abu Dhabi”

ABU DHABI, May 29 / The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council joined the electronic platform “Asos in Abu Dhabi”, which was launched by Creative Zone in 2022 in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi and a number of partners from the public and private sectors, with the aim of providing support to small and medium-sized companies in terms of Products and services standards and compliance with export requirements.
The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, which is concerned with developing the quality and conformity infrastructure in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to raise the quality of exports and products traded locally, will provide consultations to members of the “Asos in Abu Dhabi” platform.
This partnership contributes to enhancing the export capabilities of small and medium-sized companies by benefiting from specialized consultations based on research and expertise, which helps them deal with the multiple and complex aspects of this process, and improve levels of quality and compliance.

Compliance with international standards increases the global competitiveness of products and services in Abu Dhabi, and the attractiveness of local companies to international partnerships, which contributes to strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading center for business, financial activities and trade.
Small and medium-sized companies will receive from the members of the “Osos in Abu Dhabi” platform business development advice and guidance, access to regulatory information and developments in the field, as well as advisory services designed according to the markets to which they export their products and services, and the nature of their business activities. The relationship of these companies with a network of partners to test and audit accreditation certificates.

Abdullah Al-Yazidi, Executive Director of the Strategic Affairs Sector at the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, said that the council is committed to developing the quality infrastructure in general, which means working closely with the public and private sectors, from government agencies and large companies to entrepreneurs and startups, to provide the necessary and additional support.

He added that since the network of “Osos in Abu Dhabi” members is large and diverse, the levels of consultations provided will be diverse, and we are ready to partner with them in improving the quality of the product for companies and the business sector in Abu Dhabi in general.

For her part, Moza Obaid Al Nasseri, Executive Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Sector at the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, said that increasing non-oil exports is one of the main objectives of the economic diversification strategy, and we are pleased to strengthen the partnership with the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council to provide small and medium enterprises with the expertise and knowledge necessary to raise their capabilities in this field.

She added that within the role of the Department of Economic Development in leading economic growth, we are committed to providing an appropriate system for entrepreneurship by facilitating the establishment and practice of business for start-ups, small and medium companies, and enabling them to grow and expand.

For his part, Lorenz Joris, CEO of Creative Zone, said: “This partnership contributes to supporting the members of the “Osus in Abu Dhabi” platform to ensure that their products are developed and meet quality requirements, which gives them a competitive advantage in providing leading products locally and globally.

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, since its inception in 2009, has been working to develop the quality and conformity infrastructure in the emirate to raise the quality of exports and locally traded products. The Council constitutes a framework for the regulators and industry in Abu Dhabi. Priority areas for the Council include developing standards and specifications, strengthening inspection infrastructure, ensuring fair trade and protecting consumer interests.

By focusing on these aspects, the Council contributes to enhancing the level of safety and quality of local products and their conformity with international standards.
