Abu Dhabi Sports announces the joining of 4 international riders to the Emirates Tour

Abu Dhabi, February 17: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the organizer of the Emirates Tour, announced the joining of 4 international riders to participate in the fifth edition of the Tour, which is scheduled from February 20 to 26.
The tour begins and ends in Abu Dhabi, through 7 stages with a total of 1028 km. The race track consists of 4 fast stages, two mountain stages, in addition to a stage against the clock, which extends for a distance of 17.2 km.

Cyclist Belo Bilbao of (Bahrain-Victorious Team) returns to the UAE 12 months after winning third place in last year’s edition, following an outstanding performance.
Bilbao had previously won two stages in the Tour of Italy, to confirm its readiness and readiness to achieve victories.
The cyclist Mark Cavendish of (Team Astana Kazakhstan), the British champion and former world champion in road racing, has a distinguished history in his participation in the Emirates, as he had previously achieved 7 victories in his five previous visits.
His last victory was during the last edition of the Emirates Tour, when he defeated Jasper Philipsen in the Abu Dhabi breakwater area to win the second stage.
And with 34 victories achieved in the stages of the Tour of France, over the course of his participation in the Tour, Cavendish shares the record for victories with the legend Eddy Merckx.
The Dutchman, Dylan Groenewegen, from the Jaico Al-Ula Team, is considered one of the best riders expected to shine in this year’s edition of the Emirates Tour.
The Dutch cyclist won five stages of the Tour de France (between 2017 and 2022), as he previously recorded his name in the Emirates Tour, after winning the fourth stage in the 2020 edition, and proved his capabilities and high level this year, and won the first stage of the Saudi Tour, To be ready now to continue his achievements in the only global cycling race in the Middle East.
The Italian cyclist Elia Viviani of (Ineos Grenadiers Team) is also striving to achieve victories in this year’s version of the Tour, and he previously participated for the first time in the Emirates Tour in 2019, and won the green jersey.
Viviani, who previously managed to achieve victories in the Dubai Tour 2018, 5 stages of the Tour of Italy, and one stage of the Tour of France, in addition to topping the overall standings at the 2016 Olympics, is preparing to participate in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth stages of the Emirates Tour.
