The longest electric circuit of its kind in the Middle East to support the Riyadh train with a length of 22.3 km

Saudi Electricity Company has completed the implementation of the project of one of the longest cables in the world (380 kV) capacity (2500 mm 2), within a large variety of projects of electricity train Riyadh, which is working to implement the latest international technical specifications.
Eng. Ali Al-Rikban, Director of High Voltage Projects at Saudi Electric Company, said that the department (9007-9054), which connects the south-east metro station on the Omar bin Al-Khattab road to the second industrial city of Al-Kharj Road, took 24 months, (42) sections and (123) electrical connection, and the implementation of construction and drilling tunnels in (7) sites (HDD), noting that the length of the circuit (22.3) km is among the longest circuits of its kind in the world.
He pointed out that the project went through many technical and complex stages, especially since the construction included many neighborhoods, busy streets and highways, and intersected with infrastructure projects for other parties in the region. The roads included the Kharj Road, the Southern Ring Road, , Madinah Road, and Omar Bin Al Khattab Road.
He added: “We have succeeded thanks to God and then coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities in Riyadh to overcome many of the obstacles faced by the project, such as conflict with the draft flood drainage in the neighborhood of the climate, and the intersection with the railway, and the project’s side of some factories, Yamamah Cement Factory “.
The Saudi Electricity Company is currently working on the completion of the operation of the four main stations of the Riyadh train project and most of the electrical circuits (380 KV), which serves the Riyadh train projects, which is about 100 km long. Work is under way to connect these stations to the substations of the Riyadh train project.
