Adding 600 megawatts of photovoltaic solar energy at the Mohammed bin Rashid Complex

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, announced that this year, the Authority has added 300 megawatts of photovoltaic solar energy, as part of the fifth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Energy Complex, which is being implemented by the Authority, and is the largest solar energy complex at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. One of the world’s largest IPP systems.

The production capacity will reach 5,000 megawatts by 2030. Work is currently underway on the fifth phase, with a total capacity of 900 megawatts, with investments estimated at two billion and 58 million dirhams, and it will be operated in phases until 2023.
This year, the authority added 300 megawatts to 300 megawatts, which was also commissioned in the fifth phase last year.
