The Federation of Chambers reviews the role of the private sector in development

The meeting of the Board of Directors of the 98th Chambers of Commerce, which was hosted by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, reviewed a number of issues aimed at enhancing the role of the private sector in economic and social development.
The meeting was chaired by Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Chambers, Hamid Mohammed Bin Salem, Secretary General of Federation of Chambers and Heads and Representatives of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Mohammed Al-Rumaithi said during the meeting that the current and future stage requires us to take the initiative to evaluate the march of our union. This meeting is an opportunity to address the visions, ideas, proposals and projects.
Al Rumaithi appreciated the role of the General Secretariat of the Federation of Chambers in holding meetings of the Board of Directors alternately at the headquarters of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry to deepen the links between the business community and enhance the investment and development opportunities in the UAE.
For his part, Hamid Mohammed bin Salem said that the agenda of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the 99th Chambers Union included discussing a package of topics aimed at unifying the visions and bringing the views of representatives of the private sector in the country closer together with a report on the follow-up and implementation of the resolutions and recommendations of the Board meeting. To discuss the draft budget estimate for the year 2019, and the annual plan of the Federation of Chambers, and final accounts.
He added that the Council also reviewed a report on the mechanism of work of the joint business councils operating under the umbrella of the Federation of Chambers and the 33 councils and proposals related to the establishment of a number of new business councils during the year 2019 with each of / Kenya – Australia – Mexico – Morocco – Georgia – Sri Lanka – Brazil – Costa Rica – France – Mauritania. The Council also discussed a memorandum on the membership of the Federation of Chambers in the Boards of Arab Foreign Chambers under the umbrella of the Union of Arab Chambers (18 / room).
