November 5

The editorials of the Emirates newspapers issued this morning shed light on the “Arab Reading Challenge”, which, six years after its launch, has proven to be the largest and most successful investment in Arab mind and awareness, and the fastest way to resuming Arab civilization.

The editorials also dealt with the exemplary experience presented by the UAE in its response to the challenges of climate change during its expanded participation in the Conference of Parties on Climate Change “COP27”, which begins tomorrow in Sharm El Sheikh.

Under the title “The Challenge of Arab Reading”, Al Bayan newspaper said that the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, do not stop at an end, but rather continue, grow and grow, achieving achievement after achievement; This is the case for the Arab reading challenge, which, six years after its launch, proves that it is the largest and most successful investment in the Arab mind and awareness, and the fastest way to resuming Arab civilization.

The newspaper added that His Highness chose, from the beginning, to bet on the spirit of initiative, innovative new ideas, and mobilization of energies and solid wills, so he turned towards the new Arab generation, armed with the culture of his time and the sciences of his time, so he directed it towards reading, the alphabet that builds societies and creates miracles. And here, His Highness, today, wins the bet of hope and the future, and celebrates the millions of Arab youth and youth, who responded to the call of the challenge, and turned to the book, the right path of knowledge.

The newspaper stressed that His Highness’ initiative, which he wanted as a challenge and competition in the demand for the book, goes in directions that all societies need, in our world today, and in this time when interest in books, real knowledge, educational attainment, and creative thought has slackened.

Al-Bayan newspaper pointed out that His Highness, through the challenge of Arab reading, awakened interest in the mother tongue, the Arabic language, revived its schools, stimulated its teachers and administrations, and awakened in its communities the torches of knowledge, in the form of a vibrant youth, passionate about knowledge, and aspiring to pioneering roles in serving his community and nation. .

Al Bayan newspaper concluded its editorial by saying that His Highness’ words yesterday came to paint a picture of hope with letters of optimism and positivity, stressing that “the Arab Reading Challenge celebrates the three most beautiful things that constitute our nation’s identity and spirit: the passion for knowledge, the awareness of our youth, and the language of the enemy.” These are, without a doubt, the words of a leader, with whom we win every bet.

In turn, Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial titled “The Reading Challenge.. a global forum in the language of the enemy” that the “Arab Reading Challenge”, the largest of its kind in the world, constitutes an impressive example of what the leadership thought in the Emirates offers for the good of Arabism and the future of its generations by striving to build knowledge societies and move confidently towards a future. Best for everyone, as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed, saying: “Six years ago, we launched the Arab Reading Challenge… because we believe that the path to civilization begins with reading… We celebrate 22 million students next Thursday. Of the 92,000 schools that participated in the sixth edition of the largest Arab competition… Millions of young people scramble to read 50 books each year, which is a scramble towards a better future for all of us, God willing.
The newspaper stressed that reading is the gateway to knowledge, and there is no doubt that efforts to root it in any society are among the most important elements of investment in the human being, enabling him, rehabilitating him, and upgrading his abilities. Books and the sustainability of the search for more cultural, scientific and knowledge richness to be a supplement to the nation’s journey towards their future.
