The Arab Organization for Administrative Development (AIDMO), in cooperation with the Jordanian Ministry of Finance, today launched the first introductory seminar for the Sharjah Prize in Finance, which aims at excellence in the performance of public finance at the level of public institutions in the Arab world.
Dr. Nasser Al-Hitlan Al-Qahtani, Director General of the Organization, said that the award, which was administered by the organization on behalf of the Government of Sharjah, was the first to introduce Jordan’s administrative and financial experience and the ability of Jordanian agencies to manage scarce resources effectively, especially in the areas of health and education.
The award, launched by the Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, seeks to create a qualitative leap in the performance, results and financial services of government agencies and institutions in the Arab region to reach a world-class level. Optimization initiatives and development activities.
“This is a goal not only for the sake of the award, but also because it leads to the development of financial performance in Jordan and the Arab countries,” said Dr. Ezzedine Kanakariya, Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance. .
The organization’s advisor, Dr. Azzam Ermeli, presented the mechanism for the selection of countries in which knowledge seminars will be held, which adopted the excellence of financial experiences in the Arab countries, where Jordan was chosen for the first start in the Arab Mashreq countries, Tunisia within the Arab Maghreb countries, United States as the seat of the award.
He pointed out that the award includes six levels within the government financial institutions and individuals working in it: the government’s premier public finance authority, the best methodology in government financial planning, the best electronic financial system, the outstanding project or the distinguished initiative in public finance, , And the director of the Arab budget excellence.
He added that participation in the categories of the award provides government agencies with a detailed feedback report showing the most important strengths and the most important opportunities for improvement and development, a tool for self-evaluation, a tool for continuous improvement and improvement of performance and work, comparison of performance with other distinguished entities in the same field, accelerating and institutionalizing development efforts, Financial and moral teams, and increasing satisfaction rates for employees, clients, partners and stakeholders.
The award is granted every two years, according to specific criteria, where competition is available to all government agencies specialized in public finance and government financial planning according to the selected category at the local and regional levels, and the participation form is filled out and sent to the technical secretariat of the award.
