Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon pledge to make a digital shift

The World Bank today announced its commitment to supporting Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon in realizing their vision and plans for digital transformation by providing the necessary resources and tools.
Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon pledged to commit to digital transformation and provided road maps to support the integration of the Mashreq region into the rapidly evolving global digital economy, the World Bank said in a statement today. The pledges came on the first day of the first digital forum in the Middle East On the development of the digital economy and entrepreneurship in the countries of the Middle East, which began its work Saturday in Jordan.
The governments of the three countries have identified the challenges and solutions that will allow the Mashreq countries to make more gains for their economies and societies. Digitization is reshaping the present and future of economic activities, helping to increase productivity, improve efficiency and accelerate the containment of lagging economic and social groups such as women and youth , Pointing out that mobile phone solutions and digital devices are helping to facilitate efforts to enhance financial inclusion.
