US stocks open lower on technology stocks

NEW YORK (Reuters) – US stocks opened lower on the day’s opening, weighed down by the technology sector, with investors cautious ahead of a week expected to be packed with first-quarter results.
The Dow Jones industrial average shed 48.77 points, or 0.18 percent, to 26510.77. The S & P 500 shed 6.25 points, or 0.22 percent, to 2,898.78. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 28.69 points, or 0.36 percent, at 7969.37.
