The UAE is the largest investor in Egypt

His Excellency Jamal bin Saif Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the Emirates Council for Investors Abroad, said that the United Arab Emirates is the largest investor in the Arab Republic of Egypt at the Arab and global levels, after years of hard work and harmony between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries.

He added – in an interview with the Emirates News Agency “WAM” in conjunction with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Emirati-Egyptian relations under the slogan “Egypt and the UAE are one heart” – that Emirati investments in Egypt are currently estimated at about $20 billion and are expected to rise by 75% to reach About $35 billion over the next five years, according to the current plans and directions of members of the Emirates Council for Investors Abroad.

He explained that the relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Republic of Egypt are historical and have deep roots since the first day of the establishment of the Union of the Emirates, where they enjoy the sublime patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, as a continuation of the march laid by the late founding father. His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, believes in Egypt’s stature and pivotal role in the region.

He stated that there are more than 1,300 Emirati companies working in Egypt in projects and investments that include various sectors of oil and gas, aviation, wholesale and retail, transportation, warehousing and logistics services, the financial sector and insurance activities, information and communication technology, real estate and construction, tourism, agriculture and food security.
