The UAE chairs the meeting of the regional cooperation mechanism between the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Middle East and North Africa

Rabat, August 7 / The United Arab Emirates, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, chaired the fourth meeting of the regional cooperation mechanism between the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Middle East and North Africa, which was held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, with the participation of 8 member states of the International Civil Aviation Organization from countries Middle East and North Africa region.

The meeting was opened by Mohamed Abdel Jalil, Minister of Transport and Logistics in the Kingdom of Morocco, and Captain Aisha Mohamed Al Hameli, Assistant Director General for Air Accident Investigations in the country.

The agenda of the meeting included many axes, and the participants discussed the main items for preventing aircraft accidents by collecting and analyzing safety data and information for the aviation sector, following up on the implementation of the outputs and recommendations of previous meetings, updating information, and the nature of the internal work mechanism for each party that guarantees aviation safety, and through which common goals are achieved. .

Representatives from the global American aircraft manufacturer (Boeing), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and the International Federation of Airline Pilots Association (IFALPA) participated in the fourth meeting.

In conclusion, the Sultanate of Oman announced hosting the upcoming meetings of the Regional Coordination Committee for the Middle East and North Africa region, which are tentatively scheduled to be held during the second quarter of 2024 in the capital, Muscat.
