UAE wins membership of the International Civil Aviation Council (ICAO)

The UAE has won membership in the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in the third category for the years 2022-2025. This came during the meetings of the 41st session of the General Assembly, where member states were elected to the organization’s council, and in which the UAE applied for re-candidacy for the council’s membership in the third category.

The UAE joined the International Civil Aviation Organization in 1972, and ran for the council seat for the first time in 2007, before winning again in 2022, as in the previous years 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019.
