Etihad Airways operates additional flights during the Hajj season

Shuaib Al-Najjar, General Manager of Etihad Airways Operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport, announced the operation of additional non-scheduled flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the current Hajj season to meet the large numbers of pilgrims.

Al-Najjar said: The carrier has intensified its efforts to ensure smooth flights for pilgrims, amid strong demand for travel to perform the ritual from Far Eastern destinations such as Jakarta, Islamabad, Karachi and Mumbai. He added that the carrier has regular scheduled flights to three destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh. The carrier uses its Boeing B787 aircraft for its flights to the Kingdom, in addition to operating special flights to Jeddah that continued until June 22 to provide a comfortable travel option. And ensuring the arrival of pilgrims to the Holy Land at the beginning of the season.

Al-Najjar attributed the strong demand for Hajj travel on board the airline to the distinguished geographical location and timing of Etihad Airways flights scheduled for local or connecting travelers, as well as the formation of a team at Abu Dhabi Airport to welcome pilgrims and meet their travel requirements, whether pilgrims who start their journey from the Emirates or transit travelers. He stated that Etihad Airways has allocated a number of outlets at Abu Dhabi International Airport to facilitate and expedite travel procedures for pilgrims, indicating that the Hajj season this year will be exceptional, especially with the Saudi authorities lifting restrictions related to the “Covid-19” virus.
