US stocks start trading lower

US stocks fell at the opening today as a strong rebound in job growth in the US in June dampened investors’ hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates later this month.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 98.25 points, or 0.3 percent, to 26867.75. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index shed 11.57 points, or 0.39 percent, to 2,984.25. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 46.95 points, or 0.75 percent, to 8123.28.
