The Department of Economic Development (DED) has issued the Sharjah Industrial Investment Booklet in both Indian and Chinese languages to provide a set of services and procedures in the Department.
His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department, stressed the importance of the industrial sector and its leading role in supporting the growth of the economy of Sharjah and the UAE, which represents the locomotive of economic sectors and one of its pillars of production at a rate of 17 per cent of the emirate’s GDP. In addition, the emirate possesses one of the largest specialized industrial areas in the UAE and its strategic location and ports overlooking the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
Mariam Nasser Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Industrial Affairs Department at the Department, said that the translation of the brochure for several languages including English, Hindi and Chinese comes with the aim of reaching out to various investors in the industrial sector in order to introduce it and attract them to work in it. Industrial licenses for Chinese nationals reached 36, which indicates the prosperity and growth of this sector in the Emirate of Sharjah.
