The Egyptian government announces the move of fuel prices

The Egyptian Cabinet approved the increase in the prices of petroleum products as of 9:00 am today.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said in a statement today that the price of 80 petrol has become 6.75 pounds per liter, the price of petrol 92 has become 8 pounds per liter, the price of 95 petrol rose to 9 pounds per liter, and the price of diesel to 6.75 pounds per liter.
The price of the domestic gas was 65 pounds per cylinder, while the price of the commercial gas was increased to 130 pounds per cylinder. The price of diesel fuel increased to 4500 pounds per ton for cement factories, bricks and other industries, while its price remained stable for the food and electricity industries.
The Ministry pointed out that the price of natural gas for the supply of cars has reached 3.50 pounds and 3 bricks for 85 pounds per million thermal units. For natural gas for homes, the prices of the first tranche (from 0 to 30 m3) were 235 piasters and the second tranche (more than 30 m3 – 60 m3) M3, third tranche (more than 60 m3) 360 p 3 m.
The move of fuel prices within the framework of the government’s plan to get rid of subsidies and benefit from it in other sectors, in addition to reducing the budget deficit, especially as fuel subsidies devour 35% of the state budget.
