US President Donald Trump yesterday threatened to impose high tariffs on car imports from the European Union in the event that a trade agreement with European countries is not reached. President Trump reiterated his threat to impose import duties on European cars in order to obtain better terms in the trade relationship between the United States and Europe, as the President postponed more than once the imposition of these fees.
President Trump said in a television interview during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland that the European Union should conclude a trade agreement, adding that they “have no choice.” President Trump said fees for European cars could reach 25 percent.
