President Sisi issues directives to the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces to undertake the restoration and repair of Abu Sefein Church 8-14-2022

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued directives to the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces to undertake the process of restoring and repairing the Church of Martyr Mercurios Abu Sefein, which was subjected to a major fire today, killing 41 people and wounding 14 others.

Pope Tawadros II received a phone call today from Major General A. h. Hisham Al-Swaify, head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, during which he offered condolences to His Holiness for the victims of the accident, noting that President Sisi issued directives to the authority to rebuild the burned church.
