China completes track laying of first trans-sea high-speed railway

BEIJING On September 1, China announced the completion of the route-laying work for the country’s first trans-sea high-speed railway, in east China’s Fujian Province.

The 277-km railway links Fuzhou, the provincial capital, to the port city of Xiamen. With a design speed of 350 km per hour, eight stops along the route. This line is expected to reduce travel time between the two cities to only one hour.

The constructors have overcome the complex marine aquatic environment problems and adopted advanced track laying facilities to improve the line laying efficiency.

The Chinese “Nanchang” Railway Group announced the extension of about 6 kilometers of railways per day, as an average work. The railway construction project is expected to be completed in 2023.
