China is ready to compensate the poorest countries for climate damage

China’s climate envoy Xie Zhenhua said on Wednesday that his country is ready to contribute to a mechanism to compensate the poorest countries for losses and damages caused by climate change, while the COP27 presidency confirmed that negotiations are underway on the climate change mitigation program.
