The summit gathers under its roof top thought leaders, government institutions, major companies and leaders of sustainable finance, as well as a group of international experts and specialists in vital sectors from all over the world, to exchange best practices and explore what the green economy and the fair economy are in theory and practice.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai and Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and Chairman of the World Green Economy Organization, said: The World Green Economy Summit works to achieve the forward-looking vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him. Al Tayer added that the summit contributes to making Dubai a center for the green economy, achieving the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050 for the Emirate of Dubai to provide 100% of the energy production capacity from clean energy sources by the year 2050. For his part, Abdul Rahim Sultan, Director General of the World Green Economy Organization, said that the summit has succeeded over the past years in building bridges of dialogue and communication between stakeholders from all countries of the world, and in playing an active role in accelerating the paths of climate neutrality and maximizing opportunities for achieving sustainable economic and social development, in addition to Encouraging investments in the green economy and advancing the adoption of effective policies, plans and initiatives in this regard, discussing the most important issues related to climate change, global warming and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning energy policies with sustainable development goals, and exchanging views on successful sustainability strategies, systems and policies.

The eighth session of the World Green Economy Summit was held under the theme “Leading Climate Action Through Cooperation: The Roadmap to Achieving Carbon Neutrality”, with the participation of a large number of ministers, experts, decision makers, officials, and representatives of institutions and the academic community from around the world. The eighth Dubai Declaration 2022 stressed the importance of comprehensive partnerships and the need to mobilize resources to support low-emission development initiatives and the transition to a green economy. In addition to empowering youth to bring about positive and effective change, the Eighth Dubai Declaration also praised the UAE government, which has contributed to building a world-leading model that combines economic growth, sustainability and environmental protection.
