Saudi Arabia appoints a permanent representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO

The Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Kitak Lim, received the credentials of Maj. Essam Al-Amari, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organization’s headquarters in London, in the presence of Chargé d’Affaires of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in London, Saud Al-Hamdan.

The Maritime Transport Industry in the Kingdom received unlimited support from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. The Royal Decree was issued to appoint a Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the IMO Organization. The Kingdom of Bahrain has been a member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) since 1961.

The Kingdom is keen to reaffirm its commitment to all international maritime conventions, and to keep abreast of its impressive presence in this giant industry on the international scene, which reflects the kingdom’s efforts to raise levels of efficiency in maritime transport, safety and security, In line with the drive to transform the Kingdom into a global logistics center for the vision of 2030.

The Chairman of the Transport Authority expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, stressing that the unlimited support witnessed by the maritime transport industry in the Kingdom is beneficial to the country.

It is worth mentioning that the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the IMO Marine Leader holds a Master of Marine Science, a Bachelor of Marine Science, a Certificate of the High Seas from the French Maritime College, and has received many certificates and letters of thanks and appreciation locally and internationally, in addition to obtaining a number of medals, And participated in several committees for cooperation, preparation and planning of exercises and operations in the fields of (maritime security, maritime safety, marine environment protection, combating piracy and illegal immigration).
